Copy a Module including the History / Baseline Informations

Dear all,

is it possible to not just copy a module, but also the underlying History / Baselines of that module?

The DXL command copy(module) only copies the module but without the History/Baselines.

Does anyone have an idea how to realize that with DXL?

Thanks in advance,

To "copy" a module with baselines you can use archive and restore, but if you do this the link information (in all baselines) will be lost. If that is no issue for you that might be a way to go - Reproducing a module with history and baselines in another way from DXL is not possible, as far as I know.

If you are willing to get rid of the history you could reproduce the module baseline by baseline by a complicated DXL script.

Now you could ask, why Telelogic did not implement a feature like this. The question is: Why would you want to copy the baselines of a module to another module? You can not edit them and the information already exists in your database, so why make another copy of it? Maybe you don't need to copy the baselines but just keep a reference to them in a module attribute.

Is this question about configuration/version management?
